We help children build those foundations early so they can keep up and get ahead, rather than play catch-up later. We teach in small groups, provide structured support, and work closely with parents so your child is never left behind.

Head Start Programme (Don't Wait Until They Fall Behind)

The Head Start Programme provides weekly English and Maths support designed to strengthen the skills children need throughout primary school.
We focus on understanding, not simply getting the right answer - helping children become more confident, independent learners.

Learn, Play & Grow Holiday Club
(Available Easter, Summer and October half-term holidays)
For children entering Years 2 & 3 | In person at Dartford Bridge, DA1
Our Learn, Play & Grow Camp combines English and Maths foundation work with games, activities and time to play.
It's designed to help children build confidence and maintain their learning over the longer holiday periods.

Our Philosophy
Our Best Chance Tuition approach for Key Stage 1 is built around three things:
1. Build the foundations: We make sure children understand the core English and Maths skills they need before moving on to more difficult concepts.
2. Build confidence: Children learn better when they feel capable. We create a supportive environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes and keep trying.
3. Build consistency: Progress doesn't come from one big push. It comes from regular learning, practice and encouragement. That's why our programmes are designed to give children consistent support alongside what they're learning at school.
Meet the Founders
Best Chance Tuition is a family-run business founded by husband and wife duo,
Malachi and Mildred Talabi.
Together they are parents to two daughters - one who successfully passed the grammar school exams and begins secondary school in 2026, and another preparing for her own exams this same year.
They live and teach from Dartford, Kent.
Malachi Talabi
Co-Founder & Lead Tutor
Malachi is a qualified primary school teacher with more than 15 years of experience working with children across Key Stage 1 and 2.
He has a particular ability to break difficult concepts down into simple, understandable steps and create a classroom environment where children feel comfortable learning.
At Best Chance Tuition, Malachi leads the teaching and ensures every session is focused, purposeful and engaging.
Mildred Talabi
Co-Founder & Managerial Support
A communications expert, entrepreneur and qualified adult education teacher, Mildred oversees the parent experience, programme quality and operations.
As a mother who has navigated the Key Stage 1 educational journey firsthand, she brings insight, empathy and organisation to the process.

Small in-person class size (maximum 6 children per class)
With no more than six children per in-person class, every pupil is seen, supported, and challenged appropriately. This means questions are answered, gaps are spotted early, and no child gets lost in the room.

Our lessons follow a clear structure so children know what to expect and can focus on learning, not keeping up. A calm, supportive approach builds confidence week by week - especially for children who feel anxious or unsure.

What year groups do you teach?
Our current programmes are designed specifically for children in Years 2 and 3.
What subjects do you teach?
We focus on English and Maths, with an emphasis on building strong foundations and securing key skills.
Where do the sessions take place?

Who teaches the children?
Our programmes are delivered by Malachi Talabi, a qualified primary school teacher with more than 15 years of teaching experience.
How are your payments structured?
We use a subscription model whereby you pay a set recurring monthly fee for the tutoring. Payment is made a month in advance.
Do you provide tutoring during the school holidays?
The Head Start programme is only during term time. During the longer school holidays, we run our Learn, Play & Grow camps, which have limited spaces. Your child will be given priority if they are already enrolled on our Head Start programme.
Are your programmes exam preparation?
No. Our focus is on English and Maths foundations, confidence and school readiness rather than exam preparation.
My child is doing well at school. Would they still benefit?
Absolutely. Tuition isn't only for children who are struggling. Regular support can help children consolidate what they're learning, strengthen their understanding and approach new work with greater confidence.

Our first step is understanding where your child is currently working and where they need additional support. The aim is to identify gaps, strengthen the foundations and help them move forward.
What support do parents need to provide at home?
We don’t expect parents to teach content, but we do expect them to be invested in their child’s learning. When home support and tuition work together, children are far more likely to feel supported, motivated and able to succeed.
While we provide structured teaching and guidance, you can help your child by maintaining good routines, encouraging completion of set work, and taking an active interest in how they are learning.
